Casa Batllo and La Pedrera

Casa Batllo and La Pedrera

Casa Batlló – The jewel of Gaudí

The Casa Batlló built between 1904 and 1906 in the heart of the city, it is the most emblematic work of the brilliant architect. Gaudí provided the Casa Batllo of an original, fantastic and full of imagination facade. It replaced the old facade with a new set of stone and glass. He sent ringing the outer walls to give the wavy form, which then reversed with lime mortar and covered with brittle of stained glass and ceramic discs.

La Pedrera – Creation and knowledge

The Casa Mila, popularly known as “La Pedrera”, is a unique building, built between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) and World Heritage by UNESCO in 1984. Today the building is home Catalunya-La Pedrera Foundation and hosts an important cultural reference in Barcelona by the set of activities organized and the various museum and public use spaces included.

La Pedrera is today a beacon that radiates creation and knowledge, a great continent full of content, with a key role in the transformation of society and commitment to its people.
